CBS Sports - Finding Each Other

The Story

Clearview Golf Club in Canton broke barriers in 1946 as the first course in America built, owned, and operated by an African American — and one of the few open to all, regardless of race. That same spirit lives on through Clearview HOPE. Clearview HOPE is transforming the lives of America’s women military veterans through the game of golf. It provides more than just a sport — it offers healing and camaraderie.

The Challenge

This piece was the product of a special collaboration between KO-MAR Productions and the PGA of America for a CBS Sports Special — capturing the charm of small-town spirit while bringing a national spotlight to the game of golf.

How We Did It

This production began on the smallest jet. With only 36 hours in East Canton, OH and a 2-person crew, we worked with LPGA Tour Player Renee Powell to create the powerful story. Each women’s experience was the core for this piece and it was critical to give them the space to talk, room to cry and safety to share.
